1. Who this applies to
This page covers accounts on CeylonLot, the parking management app and dashboard published by CeylonLot (Colombo, Sri Lanka). That means:
- Parking officers who sign in to the CeylonLot mobile app.
- Operators (councils and private lot owners) who use the CeylonLot dashboard.
If you are a motorist without an account, the data we hold about you is normally limited to a plate number and session record - see our Privacy Policy for how to raise a request about that.
2. How to request deletion
To request that your account and associated data are deleted:
- Step 1. Email hello@ceylonlot.com.lk with the subject line "Delete my CeylonLot account".
- Step 2. In the email, include the name on your account and - for officers - your officer ID and the lot or operator you work for, so we can find the right account. Where possible, send the email from the address registered on the account.
- Step 3. We may reply to verify that the request really comes from the account holder before deleting anything.
Officers can also ask their operator, who can raise the request with us on their behalf. We acknowledge requests and aim to complete them within 14 days.
3. What is deleted
Once your request is verified, we delete:
- Your account profile - name, email address, officer ID and role.
- Sign-in data - hashed credentials and all active sessions, which are revoked immediately.
- Contact details held for account setup and support, once no open matter depends on them.
After deletion you can no longer sign in, and the account cannot be recovered.
4. What is kept, and for how long
Some records must survive the account for legal and audit reasons. These are kept without your account attached to them:
- Parking and payment transaction records - check-ins, check-outs, fees and PayHere transaction references - are retained for tax, accounting and audit obligations, for up to seven years, then deleted. Where they referenced your account, they are anonymised so they no longer identify you.
- Dispute and support correspondence is kept only as long as the matter it relates to remains open.
We do not keep anything else. We never sell personal data, and nothing is retained for marketing.
5. Questions
Anything unclear about this process, or about the data we hold, email hello@ceylonlot.com.lk. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Authority of Sri Lanka.
