1. The agreement
These terms are an agreement between CeylonLot ("we", "us"), a software service built and operated in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and you: the municipal council or private operator that subscribes to the platform (an "operator"), and each parking officer who signs in with credentials an operator arranged. By using CeylonLot - the officer app, the operator dashboard or this website - you accept them. If you use CeylonLot on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept them for it.
There is no public sign-up: we provision each operator's account, zones and rates, and issue officers their credentials. If we sign a separate written agreement with an operator - a municipal deployment with an SLA, for example - that agreement takes precedence over these terms wherever the two differ.
2. Accounts
- Officer credentials are issued per person. Keep them confidential and don't share or reuse them.
- Operators are responsible for what is done on the platform under their accounts, including by their officers.
- Tell us promptly if you believe credentials have been lost or compromised, and we will reset them.
3. Acceptable use
CeylonLot is for running real parking operations, lawfully. You agree not to:
- enter false check-ins, check-outs or payment records;
- sign in with someone else's credentials, or let someone else use yours;
- probe, disable or work around the platform's security or access controls;
- copy, resell, sublicense or reverse engineer the software;
- scrape or bulk-extract data that is not from your own lots and zones;
- use the platform for anything unlawful, or in a way that interferes with the service for others.
4. Platform fees
- The platform is billed as a flat monthly fee per plan, in LKR, as set out on our pricing page. We take no commission on parking takings.
- Every new operator starts with a one-week free test period. Billing begins only when that week ends; if you cancel during the test period, you owe nothing.
- Billing is monthly, with no long-term lock-in.
- We can change prices with at least 30 days' notice, effective from your next billing month. If you don't accept a change, you can cancel before it takes effect.
- If a fee goes unpaid we will remind you first; access may be suspended if it stays unpaid, and is restored once it is settled.
5. Parking payments and rates
- Each operator sets its own rate card - by vehicle type and zone - and is responsible for those rates complying with the rules that apply to its lots, and for displaying them to motorists where local rules require it.
- Officers collect parking fees through the app. Card and digital payments are processed by PayHere and are also subject to PayHere's terms; cash is collected and held by the operator's officers, never by CeylonLot.
- Refunds - of parking fees and of platform fees - are handled as set out in our Refund Policy.
6. Service availability
We aim to keep CeylonLot available around the clock, and to schedule maintenance outside busy hours with notice where practical. But the service depends on mobile networks and third-party infrastructure - database hosting (Supabase) and payments (PayHere) among them - so we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and short outages are possible. Unless a written agreement with an operator includes a specific SLA, no particular uptime level is guaranteed.
7. Your data
- The operational data an operator's team enters - sessions, rates, takings - belongs to the operator. You give us the permission needed to host and process it in order to run the service.
- Personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
- You can ask for an export of your data before your account closes; after closure we retain and delete data as the Privacy Policy describes.
8. Intellectual property
The CeylonLot software, apps, design and branding are ours and remain ours. A subscription gives an operator a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the platform for its own parking operations while the subscription lasts - nothing more. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve the product without owing a fee or credit.
9. Liability
- The platform is provided "as is". To the fullest extent Sri Lankan law allows, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss - lost profits, lost revenue or lost data - arising from use of, or inability to use, the platform.
- We are not responsible for what happens at the lot itself: vehicles and their contents, disputes between an operator and a motorist, or an operator's rates and charging decisions. CeylonLot is a tool for running a parking operation; the operation remains the operator's.
- For any claim connected to the service, our total liability is capped at the platform fees the operator paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
10. Suspension and termination
- Operators can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current billing month.
- We can suspend or end access for unpaid fees (after a reminder), a material breach of these terms, unlawful use, or a genuine security risk. Where a breach can be put right, we will give you the chance to fix it first.
- If we ever retire the service, we will give at least 30 days' notice and refund prepaid fees for the unused period.
- When an account ends, access stops. We make the operator's data available for export for 30 days, then retain or delete it as the Privacy Policy describes.
11. General
- These terms are governed by the law of Sri Lanka, and any dispute falls to the courts of Sri Lanka.
- We may update these terms as the product evolves. For material changes we give at least 30 days' notice by email or on this page; continuing to use the platform after that is acceptance of the new terms.
- If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- An operator may not transfer its agreement with us without our consent. We may transfer ours to a successor that carries on the CeylonLot business - for example, a company formed to run it.
- Questions about these terms: hello@ceylonlot.com.lk.
